| I have two tattoos currently, and I have been wanting to get a third, but I'm am starting to have doubts about getting it. When I started looking into getting my first tattoo, I was told that it can become addicting. Well, I didn't listen to that because I figured that it couldn't actually be addicting; it's just getting a tattoo. Well, I got my first tattoo, and not even a year later, I got my second. Now, only a month or two later, I really want to go get a third one.
Here's the dilemma, I plan on going into nursing. Well, more specifically, I plan on being a CNA until I figure out where exactly I feel most comfortable working and then pursing that career choice. Some hospitals are modernized about tattoos and such, but others aren't. So obviously, any tattoos would probably need to be hidden by the scrubs at all times. There's, also, the problem of prices, and then the major doubt "Why even get it? Why does it mean so much that I feel as if I need it permanently inked into my skin?"
Well, I, personally, love the two tattoos that I have. I have a tremble cleft with a heart on my right foot. I got it last November for my 19th birthday as a matching tattoo with a friend because we love music. When I say that I love music, I mean that I love it with every single fiber of my being. Music gets me through every emotion, every situation, every experience, and, well... EVERYTHING! A month ago, I got an infinite sign with 'life' and 'love' in the flow of the sign. I loved the design, and I believe that you can't fully experience life without love and vice versa.
The tattoo that I'm waiting to get are the words "Breathe. Survive.". I chose this because whenever I get in a tight spot and start panicking or get nervous or angry, I tell myself to breathe get get through it. 'Survive' came from my life. I have experienced a lot in my life, and I have blessedly survived it and used the experience to fuel my strength and determination. So the tattoo has a really sentimental meaning behind it. However, the only place that I can think of getting it that I would like it would be my wrist. Now, I could hide it with a watch or something, but is the wrist really a good place to get a tattoo?
Advice, anyone?
Also, doesn't anyone else have tattoos with a deep meaning behind them? If so, would you like to share your story behind getting them?

| Oh, the woes of tattoos. I have the same problem but I only have one at the moment. Mine is located on my wrist and it's this beautiful Mehendi design I came across. It was altered slightly by my vivacious tattoo artist, a Ms. Paloma. I got it when I turned twenty-four years old. I don't regret it. I just regret not getting more. However, when you have kids, things like tattoos are a luxury. However, I think it's a good thing to wait and put one off. Just because I put a lot of thought into something that is going to be permanently present on my body. Tattoos should be a way of self-expression not some random excursion of poor choices.
But I can see the issue that you are faced regarding what may be your future career path. I want to be an art teacher and most primary schools frown on it and criminal records. I don't have a criminal record but I do have a visible tattoo. So, I have to get my masters so I can teach at a junior college level to by pass all that bull-shit. As a studio artist and or writer I can just be myself so I'm leaning towards getting my MFA in studio art and minoring in creative writing. Either way you should be advised that tattoos are still taboo in the work place. If you don't want to work minimum wage for the rest of your life than you might want to have them concealed. Or you could start your own company...but the list of ideas goes on and on.
Life is too short to be strapped down by the man and society. I say fuck it and get the third tattoo and enjoy any more that might come your way.

| Sounds good to me, haha! It's really cold in hospitals, anyways. I'm sure I could get away with wearing long sleeves a lot, and a watch would suffice for any other day.
